MULTI PITCH ABSEILING BLUE MOUNTAINS COURSE OVERVIEW

A beginners abseiling course run from the Blue Mountains. Learn basic single pitch and multi pitch abseiling skills all within the beautiful Blue Mountains.

Abseiling is one of the fundamental skills used for rock climbing and mountaineering but is also an enjoyable activity on its own, guaranteed to get the heart pumping!

Many of the skills required to be safe and successful on an overseas expedition can be learnt without snow. A solid technical skill base and a strong mental fortitude are key to being prepared for any expedition. The Blue Mountains offers fabulous opportunities to improve both of these with its exposed sandstone cliffs and rugged steep terrain.

You will learn the basics of abseiling starting on a small 6 meter cliff before we practise the techniques on a 15 meter cliff. Once you feel comfortable with your new skills we head off to complete the multi pitch abseil called Malaita Wall which heads down 180 metres of cliff line into the Jamison Valley. During the abseil you will experience spectacular views of Mt Solitary and the Three Sisters. This adventure will help you to be more comfortable with exposure, offer an adrenalin rush and give you plenty of time to practise your abseiling skills.  We hike back up to the top of the cliff via the Furber Stairs past Katoomba Falls to complete the day.
